It is a kind of a paste(pesto). This is useful in making various recipes.
It is also served as a dip/sauce with certain types of snacks. When mixed with butter/cream cheese, it could also be used as a sandwich spread, especially, tomato and cucumber sandwiches, which are very popular in Asian countries as well as in Europe.
Ingredients:
1 cup of grated fresh coconut/ sugarless, dried coconut
2 cups of chopped coriander leaves with stems
(the stems have more flavor)
2 medium size Jalpenos/6 green chilies
3 large cloves of garlic/ 2 tea spoons of garlic paste
(you may replace garlic with 2 tea spoons of cumin seeds)
3 tea spoons of lemon juice
¾ tea spoon of salt (as per taste)
Directions :-
Place all the above ingredients in a mixer and grate it to form into a paste.
Use a plastic glove and form a ball out of it and put it in a suitable bowl
as shown in the picture.
